Autism Awareness
Written by Keith Mckenzie
The 4th annual world autism awareness day is on April 2nd 2012 and in the UK Autism Awareness Month throughout April.
A series of awareness programmes and events will take place.
Many issues and expressions tend to come from support charities, parents, academics and health professions. It usually expressing how the condition medically affects people with autism and also how the expressions and how it affects parents. Expressions directly from people (in particular Adults) with autism and asperger syndrome tend to be limited through charities.
It does does get coverage on various media round the world.
But is the examples misses out an important factors. Any awareness events should be just about a person or a group of people but society should be informed about the expression, issues directly from the persons featured.
So with Autism awareness could more should be done and society should learn more of the experiences & perspectives from what an autistic person faces. Also collectively within the autistic community they need to come together with united voice on what they needs to be done to move forward and not always rely on other people or support organisations. However it must not be over idealistic its needs to realistic and must be in respectable manner. There are campaign groups which can be proactive this can dangerous if it becomes out of control.
So with autism awareness more could be done it should not be just about the conditions and issues about autistic people but It should also be from the autistic perspectives. If this can be achieved then autism awareness will be more relevant.
Now its your turn, to air your expressions and viewpoints
and what's should be done to improve autism awareness in the future
